Why was my request cancelled?

There are several reasons your ILL request may have been cancelled.  You should receive an explanation in the email you receive telling you it's been cancelled.

Some possible reasons:

  • we own the item you requested, either in print or online
  • you didn't give us enough information to find the item
  • no library is able to supply what you are requesting

Or, when a book is available more quickly through PASCAL (the SC state-wide borrowing network) than through ILL, we will as a courtesy cancel you ILL request and instead place a PASCAL request for you. This is to ensure that you get your item as quickly as possible.
